When you ask for an appointment, we hold the 79p booking fee on your card. Nothing else is held. The fee is only taken after your barber accepts. Your appointment is confirmed once your barber has accepted and the 79p has been taken. A hold may lower the money you have available for a while. You pay your barber for the haircut afterwards, in cash or by card through Stripe, depending on what your barber offers.
Every booking needs a saved card, even if you pay in cash. Saving a card does not mean your haircut is charged to it automatically. If you choose to pay by card, you confirm that payment yourself after your haircut.
You must be 16 or over to make an account. If you are younger, a parent or guardian should book for you. Check the address before you ask for an appointment, as some barbers work from home.
Barbers: membership and payments
On the web, barbers pay for membership through Stripe. In the apps they pay through Apple or Google. To manage or cancel renewal, use the one you paid with. One membership works across all supported platforms.
Barbers keep 100% of what customers pay in cash. Card payments for the haircut, and any valid fees, go to the barber after Stripe takes its own card costs. Trimz takes no commission on these. Trimz earns money from the separate 79p booking fee and from membership. No commission does not mean there are no fees at all, and card payouts to a bank are not instant.
If your plans change
You can withdraw a request that is still waiting for your barber at no cost.
Once an appointment is confirmed, you can cancel any time before it starts. Cancel within 15 minutes of it being confirmed, or at least 24 hours before it starts, and you get the 79p back with no extra fee. Cancel less than 24 hours before it starts, after those first 15 minutes, and the 79p is kept. Your barber’s late-cancellation fee may also apply. If your barber cancels, or they are confirmed as not turning up, you get the 79p back.
Each barber chooses their own fee for no-shows and for late cancellations: off, 50%, 100% or an amount of their choice. Barbers start with 100% for a no-show and 50% for a late cancellation, but they can change this. A fee of their own choice starts at £1 and can never be more than the price of your service.
Percentages are rounded to the nearest penny. If a fee would be too small to charge by card, it is shown as £0 when you book and you will not owe anything. You see the real amounts before you book, and later changes by the barber do not change a booking you have already made.
If a barber reports a missed appointment or a late-cancellation fee applies, you are not charged straight away. We tell you first, and you then have 48 hours to challenge the fee before anything is taken. While a challenge is being checked, nothing is taken. TRIMZ reviews it. You can never be charged both fees for the same appointment, or a fee as well as the price of a service you missed. To challenge a fee, or to report that your barber did not turn up, use your appointment page. None of this limits your legal rights, or your rights with your bank or card company.
